Datum AI for the building industry

Who we are

Two operators who run a remodeling firm. Still in the work.

We bought KBF Design Gallery in 2021 at $5.2M in revenue and ran it to $13.8M by 2025. Along the way we built the AI tools we could not buy. Datum is how we teach other building-industry companies to do the same, with their own people.

Adam Vellequette

Adam grew up in his family's remodeling business: demo in high school, then tile, cabinetry, and framing alongside KBF's tradesmen before moving into sales and operations. In 2021 he and his sister Ashley bought the company. He built KBF's AI tools himself, including KBF Atlas AI, the system the firm prices, sells, and runs its projects in. Every bottleneck he solved along the way became part of what Datum teaches.

Ashley Sheaffer

Ashley started at KBF as a receptionist straight out of college, earned her NKBA certification as a kitchen and bath designer, rose through sales management, and became co-owner alongside Adam in 2021. She knows the workflows from the ground up, which is why she knows what AI should and should not touch.

The firm behind the method

KBF Design Gallery, Orlando, Florida.

A design-build remodeling firm with its own showroom in Maitland. Kitchens, baths, and whole-home work. The scopes, schedules, selections, and field reports we teach with are KBF's own. The software we license is the software KBF runs on.
